How do I know what size marquee I need?

Guest count is the main driver. Roughly: 1m² per seated banquet guest, 0.5m² per cocktail guest. 50 seated ≈ 50m² (6m × 9m). 100 seated ≈ 100m² (8m × 12m or 8m × 15m). 200 cocktail ≈ 100m² (8m × 15m). What's the difference between banquet, cocktail and theatre seating?

Accepted Answer

Banquet = round tables of 10 seated for a meal. Cocktail = standing with bar tables and lounges. Theatre = linear rows of chairs facing a stage. Banquet takes the most floor space per head, theatre the least.

Should I go 6m wide or 8m wide?

Accepted Answer

6m-wide marquees are ideal for up to 120 guests cocktail or 60 seated. For anything larger, 8m wide gives a more balanced shape — proper banquet layout, dance floor and bar within one structure. 8m-wide also feels more premium with a higher ceiling.

Can I fit the marquee in my backyard?

Do I need flooring?

Accepted Answer

For weddings, milestone birthdays and corporate events, yes — Pro-Floor modular flooring is almost standard. It levels uneven ground, handles heels and dance shoes, and keeps rain-mud off guests. For casual backyard BBQs or kids' parties on a lawn, you can skip flooring.
