What size generator do I need for my event?
Backyard events with festoon lighting and a PA: 2.2kVA Honda EU22i ($95). Mid-size events with full lighting and DJ: 3.2kVA Honda EU32i ($140). Catering plus lighting plus audio: 10kVA Denyo diesel ($280). Large weddings 80+ guests with commercial catering: 25kVA Denyo DCA-25 ($420). Major festivals or multi-marquee events: 60kVA Denyo DCA-60 ($690).
How loud is a 2.2kVA Honda inverter generator?
About 52dB at rated load — equivalent to a quiet conversation or a running refrigerator. You can position it 10-15m from guests and it will be barely noticeable.
Can a generator power commercial catering equipment?
Yes, but you need a diesel generator. Inverter generators (2.2kVA, 3.2kVA) cannot handle the startup surge of commercial fridges, bain-maries and urns. The 10kVA Denyo diesel handles these loads reliably. For full commercial kitchens use the 25kVA or 60kVA.
How long does a generator run on a tank of fuel?
Honda 2.2kVA: ~8 hours on petrol. Honda 3.2kVA: ~6 hours at load. Denyo 10kVA diesel: 12+ hours. Denyo 25kVA: 16+ hours. Denyo 60kVA: 20+ hours. All comfortably cover an evening event without refuelling.
Do you deliver and set up the generator?
Yes. Delivery, positioning, fuel and connection are billed as a separate Delivery & Install line item. Our crew positions the generator at a safe distance from guests, runs cabling to your distribution board, and tests the power before your event begins.
Where do you position the generator?
Typically behind the marquee, 10-20m from the event space. We run cabling to a distribution board inside the marquee. The sound-attenuated diesel enclosures keep noise minimal even at close range.
