How far ahead should I book a marquee?

For weddings — 6 to 12 months. For summer parties and corporate events — 2 to 3 months. For last-minute jobs we can sometimes squeeze you in with 1-2 weeks notice if stock is free. Call Joe on 0435 642 592 to check availability.

When do I need to pay the deposit?

A 30% deposit secures your date. Full balance is due 14 days before the event. Dates are only locked in once the deposit lands — quotes are held for a reasonable window but don't reserve the gear.

What do I need to have ready on setup day?

Clear site access (no locked gates), lawn mowed, pets secured, no vehicles parked in the setup zone, and someone on site to show the crew where things go. If underground services aren't clearly marked, tell us before pegs go in.

When do you deliver and pick up?

Most weekend jobs are delivered Thursday or Friday and picked up Monday. That gives you install time, the event, and next-day pack-down without a rush. Weekday events work the same way — setup the day before, pickup the day after.

Do I need council permits?

Private backyards — no. Public parks, reserves or beaches — yes, you organise through Brisbane City Council or the relevant local government. Some venues require their own event permit. Check with your venue first.

What if the weather is bad?

Our marquees are engineered to 80km/h winds and built to Australian Standards. Light rain and wind are not an issue. Severe weather (cyclones, extreme storms) is handled case-by-case — Joe will call you if we need to reschedule or de-rig early for safety.

12+ Months Before

Set your date — peak season (Sep–Mar) books fast. Lock in early.

Choose your venue/location — backyard, park, farm, estate? Check flat ground availability.

Estimate guest count — use our Size Finder to match guests to marquee size.

Get quotes from marquee companies — compare total cost, not just headline price. Check what's included.

6–8 Months Before

Book your marquee — pay deposit to lock in your date. 40% deposit secures the booking.

Confirm site access — measure gate widths, check vehicle access for delivery truck.

Check council permits — some venues/parks require event permits. Check with your local council.

Book catering — confirm whether you need a generator for catering equipment power.

3–4 Months Before

Finalise furniture — chairs, tables, wine barrels. Use our furniture page for options.

Confirm lighting — interior festoons, exterior festoons, LED wash uplighting.

Decide on flooring — Pro-Floor for the full marquee or just a dancefloor section?

Book generator if needed — no mains power? Check our generator sizes.

Arrange toilets — outdoor venue with no facilities? Book portable toilets.

1 Month Before

Pay balance — balance due 30 days before event date.

Confirm final guest count — adjust furniture quantities if needed.

Confirm setup/pickup dates — we set up the day before, pack down the day after.

Brief your stylist/decorator — share marquee dimensions so they can plan.

Check weather forecast — our marquees handle rain and 80km/h winds, but plan wall configuration.

2 Weeks Before — Site Preparation

Mow the lawn — mow 2-3 days before setup. Short grass = cleaner look + easier anchoring.

Check ground is LEVEL — our Pro-Floor handles minor slopes (~150mm). Steeper? Tell us early so we can plan.

Clear the footprint — remove ALL outdoor furniture, pot plants, toys, clotheslines, trampolines, garden beds, anything in the marquee area + 1m clearance each side.

Identify underground services — CRITICAL: locate gas lines, water pipes, electrical cables, irrigation, septic systems. Star pickets go 600mm into the ground — hitting a gas line is dangerous. Call Dial Before You Dig (1100) if unsure.

Check for overhead wires — marquee peak height is ~3.5m. Any power lines, clotheslines, or tree branches above the setup area need clearance.

Confirm surface type — grass, concrete, pavers, dirt? Concrete/hard surfaces need weighted anchoring instead of star pickets (additional cost).

Test drainage — does water pool in the area after rain? If so, consider marquee placement or ask about drainage solutions.

Measure gate and access widths — 6m marquee components fit through 900mm+ gates. 8m range needs wider front/rear access. Our truck is 8-tonne, 7.5m tray — it needs to get within 30m of the site.

Confirm power access — where is the nearest power point? How far from the marquee? Extension lead or generator needed?

Notify neighbours — let them know about the delivery truck, setup noise, and event. Good neighbours = stress-free events.

Check parking — where will guests park? Any overflow parking needed? Street parking restrictions?

Setup Day

Ensure clear vehicle access — no cars blocking the driveway. Gates unlocked and open. Move bins.

Have someone on site — our crew may need to confirm exact marquee positioning, wall placement, and power routing.

Point out underground services — show our crew where any gas, water, or electrical lines run. Better safe than sorry.

Confirm wall configuration — which sides open, which sides closed? Where do you want the entrance?

Keep pets and kids away — the setup area is a work zone with heavy equipment and tools.

Event Day

Enjoy your event! — the structure is up, the lights are on, the floor is down. You've earned this.

After the Event

Leave the marquee as-is — our crew packs everything down. Do NOT try to disassemble any part of the structure.

Remove your decorations — take down any personal decorations, signage, and personal items before our pickup.

Remove all rubbish — clear any food waste, bottles, or debris from inside the marquee before pack-down.

Ensure vehicle access for pickup — same access requirements as setup. Driveway clear, gates open.
