Everything you need to know about marquee hire

What size marquee do I need?

It depends on your guest count and layout. Standing cocktail: ~0.6m² per person. Cocktail with some seating: ~0.9m². Seated dinner: ~1.2m². Use our size finder above or contact us — we'll recommend the perfect fit for your event.

Can you set up on grass, concrete, or sand?

Yes to all. Grass uses star pickets, concrete uses weighted surface-mount feet, sand uses deep anchors. Mention your surface when requesting a quote and we'll advise on the best approach.

What about Brisbane weather — wind and rain?

Our clearspan marquees are engineered to handle wind gusts up to 80km/h. They're fully waterproof with sealed connections and effective drainage. In severe weather — wind gusts over 60km/h, hail, cyclonic activity, or severe thunderstorms — we may delay, suspend, or adjust installation. We're bound by the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) and will not install if conditions are unsafe. Weather events are treated as force majeure: your booking is secured, and we'll offer a credit or reschedule at no extra cost, subject to availability.

When is payment due?

Payment is due no later than 30 days before your scheduled hire date. We accept bank transfer, credit card, and cash. Alternative payment arrangements can be discussed in exceptional circumstances, but must be agreed in writing before the event.

What's your cancellation policy?

All payments are non-refundable for cancellations or change of mind. A cancellation fee up to the full hire fee may apply. We may offer credits or rescheduling at our discretion, subject to availability. This includes cancellations due to illness, COVID, or personal circumstances. We strongly recommend event insurance for peace of mind.

What if my site has limited truck access?

All bookings assume our truck can drive in, turn around, and unload at your site. If items need to be hand-carried due to stairs, narrow gates, long driveways, or other access limitations, additional labour costs apply. It's your responsibility to let us know about any access restrictions when booking — failure to disclose may result in additional charges or changes to your booking.

Who is responsible for the equipment during my event?

You are. From the moment we deliver until we collect, the hirer is responsible for all equipment including any loss, damage, or theft. Equipment must be returned clean, dry, and in the condition it was delivered (fair wear and tear excepted). We recommend maintaining insurance covering the equipment at its current market value. If something breaks or gets damaged, stop using it and contact us immediately.

What about underground utilities at my venue?

It's your responsibility to identify and mark any underground utilities (water, gas, electrical, sewerage) before we arrive. Our marquees require ground anchoring — if unmarked utilities are damaged during installation, that liability falls on the hirer. Contact your local council or Dial Before You Dig (1100) to get your site marked.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend 4–8 weeks for standard events. Peak season (September–November and summer holidays) books fast — aim for 8–12 weeks. Emergency bookings sometimes available — call to check.

What's the typical install timeline?

8×12m marquee: 2–3 hours. 6m range: ~1.5–2 hours. We arrive 4–5 hours before your event, earlier if coordinating with other vendors. Pack-down takes similar time after your event wraps.

Can you substitute equipment?

In rare cases, we may substitute equipment with a comparable alternative if operational circumstances require it. We'll try to notify you in advance, but substitution may occur without prior notice if needed. Substituted equipment will be of equal or greater quality.

Can marquees be joined together?

Yes — we can join multiple marquees of the same width with connector sections. Common for large weddings and corporate events. Cost varies by configuration; discuss layout ideas during your consultation.

What areas do you service?

We cover Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay, Redlands and wider Southeast Queensland. Delivery fees vary by distance — contact us with your venue location for a quote.
